2. Line the funnel with filter paper

3. Pour water into the filter. Note how quickly it flows.

Try this next …1. Remove the wet filter paper from

the funnel.

2. Get a dry piece of filter paper.

3. Spread a thin layer of molasses on one side. Place this filter in the funnel.

4. Pour water into the funnel.

• Did you notice how quickly the water flows through the filter paper?

• Notice how slow the water flows through the coated paper.
