HERE WE GO!!!

Nutrition Month is a special health awareness campaign

pursuant to Presidential Decree 491 or the Nutrition Act of the

Philippines.

NUTRITION MONTH

This event is held in the month July of every year. But in other

countries, it is scheduled in different month. Like the United States, Nutrition Month is held

every March.

Nutrition Month

The National Nutrition Council (NNC) is appointed by the

government as the lead agency to coordinate the nationwide

celebration of Nutrition Month. This agency is composed of committed

and competent public servants having the vision to ensure the

nutritional well-being of all Filipinos.

Who takes the lead in celebrating this special event?

As people, we are not aware of the collective representation of our health and the impact of it if

the major population in the Philippines is suffering from

malnutrition.

Nutrition Month

Do you know that Filipinos on average are eating less and less

vegetables? I bet you didn't know.

From the consumption of 145 grams per day of vegetables in

1978, it has decrease to 110 grams per day in 2008.
