Eating habits established now impact food habits and health later in life.

Under-nutrition can impair a child's cognitive development as well as their ability to explore their environment.

Toddlers:

• Need the necessary nutrients f rom food to enhance thei r developmenta l mi lestones.

• Need enough physical activity and rest to promote heal thy development.

This helps prevent disease and promote optimum health.

WHAT IS GOOD NUTRITION?

• 18-24 months, toddlers are able to use thei r tongue to c lean thei r l ips and have well-developed chewing movements.

• They have a strong need for independence and se l f- feeding.

• This must be encouraged!
