Dear Parents/Guardians,

elected to school council for the next two years;
Jessie Nguyen – Lena in Year 1, Melanie Flannery – Antain in Year 1 and
Haider Khan – Khizer in Year 6, Haadia in Year 4. I thank them for their
interest and commitment to the school and look forward to working with
them to improve educational outcomes for all of our students.
These parents join our current councillors;

Mahmood – Muhamad in Year 1 and Tan Do – Luu Ly in Year 1.
Bec Bubeck and I make up the DET representatives.
Although unsuccessful this time around I also thank Darinka Dekanovic –
Xzaviier in Year 3 and Amandeep Kaur – Gurminveer F, for putting up
their hand and having a go. I encourage them to reapply in the future.
Pick up times
Children must be collected from school before 3.30pm each day. Staff are
not on duty after this time as they usually have meetings to attend and
preparation for the following day to complete. Your assistance with this
matter would be greatly appreciated. Parents who are running late as a one
off are encouraged to call the school office.
Reporting Student Absences
As of this week all families will start receiving an SMS from the school if
their child is absent as at 10.30am each day and the school (office or class
teacher) has not been formally notified of this absence. All absences must
be approved by parents and guardians each day, this is a Department of
Education and Training requirement for all schools.

Bullying No Way Day
Today was No Bullying Day. We got to have Foundys come to our classroom and teach them about bullying and how to stop people bullying them. After we did an activity drawing
a superhero to stop bullying.
Today me (Tracy) and my buddy Annie drew a superhero and while we were drawing I got to learn about Annie. I am proud that she learnt to do the peace sign because of me. I'll like to do this again with her and to learn more about her, she is such an adorable kid
she's learning so much in her first year of sahps <333 Annie enjoyed colouring our “rainbow cat superhero” and she was very VERY happy that she was in first place for our art piece and her first time being in the news letter. I taught Annie how to put her hand out
and say “Stop” if someone is calling her names or bullying her.
Today I (Salma D) enjoyed asking Skylar questions and drawing with her it was really fun. l would like to do it again. She very shy at first, after a little while she got used to me. Skylar enjoyed drawing gingerbread man. She liked the gingerbread man's name and colouring
in, she was very happy that she got second place on her art piece.
