MASS INTENTIONS
The Cardinal has granted dispensation to the lay faithful for
missing Mass on Sunday. In lieu of receiving an Eucharistic
Communion, the lay faithful can pray for a Spiritual
Communion. Please note that each day, when a private Mass
is offered by Fr. Joe and Fr. David, the above intentions are
mentioned at the celebration of the Eucharist.
If you would like to book a Mass Intention please email
the parish office at denise.ford@archtoronto.org. Please
include the full name for the Mass intention, and include
your name and phone number.
DAILY INTENTIONS
CHILDREN’S LITURGY
We continue to bring the Word of God to children through
a live online liturgy every Sunday at 1pm (JK to Gr 2)
and 2pm (Gr 3 & up). The virtual sessions follow the same
practice as the children’s liturgy at Church where kids pray
and experience the Sunday readings at their own level. If
you and your children would like to join, please contact
Christine Santos at santoschristine@hotmail.com or
(416) 877-5767 for more details. While the Church is
closed, the children’s weekly bulletin is online. Please go to
the parish website at www.stfrancisdesales.ca, click on the
bulletin tab, and then scroll down to open and download the
weekly bulletin from the Archive List.

The Premier of Ontario has allowed the parishes to
operate up to 30% of their seating capacity.
The office will be open only on Tuesdays from 9:30
am to 12:30pm by appointment.
Weekday Masses are 9:00 a.m. a ticket from
Eventbrite is required.
Our Sunday Mass Schedule has changed only during
this time of the COVID-19 Pandemic. The times are:
Saturday 5pm, Sunday 8:30am; 9:45am; 11:00am;
12:15pm.
To attend any of these Masses, you need to register
online at https://www.eventbrite.ca/o/st-francis-de-sales-parish-30491533032?fbclid=IwAR177EEvEpy-w_LGIRa9SaeiDn4dvT5d9Q6sfWMKLHvMTZ-IxwJwwWlNb5I and bring that registration invitation to
the Mass. There will be an usher at the door to receive
only those with registered invitations (For those of you
who are unable to register online, you may phone the
parish office at 905-683-1403 ext.103). You are
encouraged to wear a facemask inside the church
building. If you are ill we ask that you stay home.
There will be designated pews for you and/or families
to be seated. Masses should last only 30 minutes. Holy
Communion will be distributed to the congregation at
the end of each Mass just before you leave. As you
leave, there will be an offertory donation box by the
Baptismal Font into which you may place your
donations.
Our small Eucharistic Chapel will be closed to the
congregation for the foreseeable future.
There will be no standing allowed in the lobby or in
the Church.
At this time, Holy Communion will not be given to the
homebound. Bulletins will be accessible by going
online at https://www.stfrancisdesales.ca/bulletin/
These are some of the guidelines as stated by the
Archdiocese of Toronto. We know these guidelines are
not perfect, and so we ask for your patience as we
embark on getting back to normality. These guidelines
will change as the premier and Cardinal give guidance
to the parishes.
MASS AT
ST. FRANCIS DE SALES
JUNE 21 2020
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Are the various things that the parish has done for
parishioners to attend St. Francis, the ideas of the
parish office or the pastor?
All the changes we’ve implemented are according to the
guidelines set out by the Cardinal’s office (the
chancery). Some of these changes includes:
To register on line before coming to Mass.
To have the parish office closed to the public.
To sit, as best as possible, six feet apart in the Church.
To have a designated entrance and exit doors.
To have one reader at Mass.
To have one server at Mass.
Not to have offertory gifts.
A change in Mass times for Sunday (with the approval
of the local auxillary Bishop Vincent Nguyen.
Are these changes permanent?
These changes are not permanent. They are the first step
back to normality. As time goes on, there will be
changes, reversals or adaptations that will have to
happen. We know that these changes are a bit difficult.
The things we took for granted, as to what and how we
could do in the parish, are for the moment, temporarily
suspended. Eventually the Mass times will go back to
what they once were previously.
We ask for your understanding and patience as we
endure these changes.
Is there anything we can do to help the parish?
Prayer is the first step you can take for the good of the
parish.
You can volunteer to help disinfect the pews between the
Masses on Sunday. Gloves, masks and cleaning
disinfectants will be provided for volunteers. The time
to disinfect the pews on Sunday should not take a long
time (about 15 minutes), provided that we at least have
10 volunteers per Mass. To volunteer, please email the
parish secretary at: denise.ford@archtoronto.org.
ONLINE DONATIONS
Dear parishioners,
I hope and pray that you are staying healthy – both
physically and spiritually.
No doubt you are aware that our parish relies on the support
of our parishioners to operate – parish salaries, programs
and ongoing operating costs (heating, water, electricity,
etc.) – are funded through the generosity of our parish
community. It will be a challenge for our parish to maintain
operations without the weekly offertory collection.
Here are the ways that you can continue to support our
parish at this time:
Mail your regular weekly offertory contribution to
the parish or drop off to the parish mailbox by the
office door.
Online donations can be made at
www.archtoronto.org. Simply click on the donate
now icon, select St. Francis de Sales parish from the
drop down menu and the fund you wish to donate
to. This can be done as a onetime donation or as an
ongoing monthly donation. It will give you a place
to choose that option.
Contribute through pre-authorized giving. You can
obtain a form from the parish website. Mail the
completed form and a voided cheque to your parish
office. Or e-mail the form and a scanned copy or
photo of a voided cheque to
development@archtoronto.org for processing.
Contributions are withdrawn from your bank
account on the 20th of each month.
You can also contribute to the offertory via online banking.
To do this, the archdiocese will need to send you a unique
account number. Please send an e-mail to
campaign@archtoronto.org. In the body of the email,
provide:
Your name, address, parish name, and municipality
You will be emailed account information, which you can
use to set up the Archdiocese of Toronto as a payee in your
on-line banking. Your gift will be forwarded to our parish.
You can make a one time or recurring gift to our offertory.
If you have any questions please contact the Development
Office at the Archdiocese of Toronto, 416-934-3400, ext.
540 or development@archtoronto.org.
Thank you for your many contributions to our parish
community. I miss seeing all of you at the Mass and I pray
daily that we will be able to gather together again soon. _________________________________________
