VISUAL MERCHANDISING

•Visual merchandising (VM) is the activity of promoting the sale of goods, especially by their presentation in retail outlets. - (New Oxford Dictionary of English, 1999, Oxford University Press)

•A display window is a window in a shop displaying items for sale or otherwise designed to attract customers to the store. – A variance of VM.

•Usually, the term refers to larger windows in the front façade of the shop.

•Display windows may communicate style, content, and price point.

•A window might combine seasonal and festive points of the year such as Back-to-school, Spring, Summer, Easter, Christmas, New Year approaching, Diwali, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day,Women's Day, etc

•Moschino and his fashion label became famous for his innovative, colorful - sometimes eccentric - designs, for his criticisms of the fashion industry and for his social awareness campaigns in the early 1990s.

Hot Air Balloons

Clever and Artsy-  Moschino’s airy, fanciful 14th street window display in the Meat Packing District .

Quirky and creative with their windows, Moschino always tries to come up something special that will tie-in with an ironic theme. And this is how they jazz up the Christmas!

The windows depict pigeons leisurely sitting at tables in bars and flying about with their new

purchases.

Mannequins, meanwhile, become the passers-by, dressed in Moschino and

Moschino Cheap & Chic.

DISPLAY:

LUMI Co.

LUMI Co. is a technology and design studio committed to creating astonishing products made of natural materials.

Stephen and Genet are a pair of LA-based designers who have engineered a new textile printing capability they call “The Lumi Process.”

With it, they’re able to print vivid, photo-realistic images on natural materials, like denim and raw leather, without any chemical treatment or processing.

Being a brand new venture, they are taking baby steps towards what could be a revolutionary spin in the fashion industry.

They are working on new textile materials and products after: upholstery, wallets, coasters, etc.  Their pretty  store displays  all of their wonderful creations!

Lumi Co. has an excellent product show room- a place in real time atmosphere where the buyers can dwell in

their frame of mind, as well as visualize the possibilities of the products.

It took a sensible lady called Jane Austen a whole long novel to display the folly of first impressions.  But as they say- "You may never get a second chance to make a first impression“

Visuals are mightier than words, and a stunning Store Design has the power to hook you by its looks!
