CRANE RAIL
WHEN ORDERING TEE RAIL
Tee Rails and Crane Rails are available in both new and relay quality.
A NOTE ABOUT RELAY RAIL:Relay Rail is rail that has been used previously and then removed due to abandonment of lines or replacement for heavier rail. NARP inspects the Relay Rail, removes defective rail, and then grades it for wear.
When ordering Tee Rail, these specifications first need to be determined:
Weight (lbs. per yard)
Section Designation (ASCE, ARA-A, AREA…)
Lengths needed
Drilling Pattern - Drilling and Bolt Hole Size
The total length of rail required and specific number of lengths required
The number of pairs of matching joint bars needed
A list of accessories that may be needed
Identify special drilling or cuts required
TEE RAIL
Tee Rails are classified by pounds per yard. We have an inventory on a variety of tee rails. We sell Tee Rail per piece, per foot or per net ton. While we sell new Tee Rail, we also have a variety of good quality Relay Rail, available, we can also handle scrap rail processing.

WHEN ORDERING CRANE RAIL
When ordering Crane Rail, these specifications first need to be determined:
The identity of rail section
The total length of rail required and specific number of lengths required
The number of pairs of matching joint bars needed
The number of machine bolts and spring washers
A list of accessories that may be needed
Identify special drilling or cuts required
CRANE RAILCrane Rails are used on tramways or light rail operations.
They are generally used to carry heavy loads at relatively slow speeds. It is similar to Tee Rail but has a thicker web and larger head. If you operate a tramway operation or light rail transit (LRT) operation, as is the case in many metro areas, crane rails are often the preferred rail type to ensure your track continues to run smoothly. NARP’s inventory includes various sizes of crane rail.

LOCKWASHERSNARP supplies various sizes of lockwashers. To order lockwashers, specify the nominal bolt diameter on which they will be used.
TIE PLUGS(Also known as wooden Tie Plugs) Tie Plugs are used when replacing ties to plug holes on the ties. Where spikes were once used to fill and fasten cross ties on railways, modern rail applications demand that Tie Plugs are used in place of Spikes. Typically, Tie Plugs are sold in bundles of larger quantities. Through NARP, Tie Plugs are available in a variety of sizes and of various materials, in new condition only, either treated or untreated.
COMPROMISE BARSCompromise Bars, or Compromise Joint Bars, are materials involved in railway applications that affix different sections of rail together while maintaining gauge and at the same time keeping the alignment of rail surfaces. As suggested by the name, Compromise Bars help adjust through their design – they typically include two separate bars as part of their construction – an inside bar and an outside bar. At North American Rail Products, we are pleased to carry a wide selection of Compromise Bars, so you know that whatever type of Compromise Bar you need, we’ll have it.
WHEN ORDERING CROMPROMISE BARS
When ordering Compromise Bars, these specifications first need to be determined:
Specify the rail sections
Identify the rail hole spacing of each section
Identify the the quantities of right hand, left hand or no hand pair by:
• Stand between the rail in track • Face the rails to be jointed • If the heavy rail is on your right, you have a right
hand pair • If the heavy rail is on your left, you have a left hand pair

SAFETY
DERAILSDerails are a rail safety device designed to limit the movement of a car/train beyond a fixed point. North American Rail Products has several types of derails in stock: switch point derails, handed derails, portable derails and bi-directional derails. We sell derails as new or, in relay condition. They are manufactured in 5 sizes to fit rail sections from 40lbs. to 136lbs. To order the correct size, measure the distance from the top of your tie to the top of the rail head. This distance in inches is the correct derail size.
BUMPING POSTS(Also known as Bump Posts and Bumper Posts)Required for general rail yard and service applications. North American Rail Products inventory includes both new and relay bumper posts.
page 30 page 31
PORTABLE DERAILSPortable Derails are a rail safety device designed to limit the movement of a car/train beyond a fixed point. Portable Derails are not left in place as are Derails and they are re-usable. NARP supplies new or relay Portable Derails only. As is the case in common North American practice, derails and portable derails are defaulted to the “On” position, as the consequences of unauthorized or dangerous rail traffic proceeding past a derail position is higher than having such rail traffic proceed with the derail. Portable derails are an essential safety product for all types of railway, and at North American Rail Products, we’re pleased to help you select the portable derail best suited for your applications.
