Motutapu Island Camp Motutapu Island Camp 20082008

Rooms: 10, 14, 4 & 11

We met at Te Awamutu Information Centre and made our way up to Auckland (in two buses) to catch the ferry to MOTUTAPU ISLAND..

It took ages to load the bags onto the ferry to head to camp.

The Island looked so exciting that we all couldn’t wait to land.

We had to hike for miles from the ferry landing to the camp. Luckily the truck took all our bags and gear !

We’d already seen the site map of the camp – but when we saw it with our own eyes – it was even better.

The first thing we did as a group was get all the instructions and rules out clearly! It was a huge Island so we had to be safe and sensible.

Food was very important ! It was the only thing on our minds after the long journey there !

Food is important when you’ve been working hard all day. Luckily, Mr Brown had some awesome desserts planned...

The Camp facilities were really good !

The museum had all sorts of interesting information about Rangitoto and Motutapu.

The activities were fun, adventurous and made us use a lot of effort and try new things.

There was a range of water activities for us to participate in.

In the evenings we relaxed and played games by the fire.

We were so tired at bedtime ... we just dropped on our beds and fell asleep almost instantly (except for a few whispers...).
