welcome to the launch of MEED’s Middle East Tunnelling conference
The governments of the Middle East are promising huge investments in road, rail and utility (water & sewerage) projects to meet the demand of rapidly expanding cities across the region. There are a significant amount of new tunnelling projects being developed over the next decade, in fact the Middle East will be home to some of the largest tunnelling projects in the world, including the ongoing development of Dubai metro, the integrated railway network project in Qatar, the Strategic Tunnel Enhancement Programme (STEP) in Abu Dhabi and the Abu Dhabi Metro.
Qatar Railways Company (QRail) are planning to award up to 12 separate tunnelling contracts alone over the next few years as part of their integrated rail projects, and the planned Abu Dhabi US$ 7 bn metro rail system is scheduled for completion in 2016.
The launch of MEED’s Middle East Tunnelling conference will provide you with the very latest data and forecast information surrounding mega tunnelling projects across the Middle East region, and outline solutions to everyday challenges that you are facing.
Middle East Tunnelling conference is a comprehensive platform for you to network, build business relations, discover where upcoming business opportunities lie and additionally how to position yourself in the Middle East tunnelling sector.
I look forward to seeing you in December 2011.
Yours sincerely,

“I have attended a number of course hosted by MEED and l have generally found them well balanced and informative. The market is full of conferences –it’s a boom industry in itself! —but MEED is different and understands how to co ordinate speakers, themes and topics. I have seen the agenda for this conference and it does meet my criteria for a conference on contemporary underground and tunnelling in the Middle East/Gulf region”
