Aug 14 - Meeting & Ice Cream Social . . . . .This Wednesday, August 14th, our meeting will start early at3:00pm at the senior center in town.

Following the meeting will be an Ice Cream Social and fungame for members. We hope you rsvp’d to save your spotthis Wednesday.

We suggest members “carpool” as parking is limited at thesenior center, but also available at the First Baptist Churchacross the street on Walnut. We must be out of that parkinglot no later than 5:00 as the church has an evening service.

What’s Happening? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .Here’s a recap of our August board meeting as follows:

< Our budget was updated and will be emailed to allmembers.

< Sandy Hricik delivered our $200 donation for the JrHigh cheerleading squad and announced we will providedinner for the JV football team at Clay High onThursday, September 26th.

< The portable at CEB used for packing Maggie’s Mealsis well stocked and ready to go.

< Sunshine chairman Patricia Nisley announced she willoffer members who are recuperating the choice offlowers from Winn Dixie or a fruit basket fron Publix.

< Fundraising will be selling aprons and note cards. Watch for the announcements from Shirley Orvosh.

Arts & Crafts Boutique Update . . . . . . . . . . .Make your calendars - Monday, November 11th (Veteran’sDay), our boutique will be held again at Sullivan Hall at theSacred Heart Catholic Church on Fleming Island.

Chairman Jola Greiner has her committees set and work hasbegun. Look for upcoming announcements about volunteers and items needed for the boutique.

New Member Badges Coming . . . . . . . . . .The Board voted to update member badges with a newdesign. All members will receive a new badge that will bedistributed stating at the September meeting.

Maggie’s Meals Teams Forming Now . . . .A big thank you to everyone who offered to help withMaggie’s Meals this coming year.

Teams are set and the schedule will be out this week. There is still room for a couple of team members andsubstitutes. If you would like to be included, email Susanat MPWomensClub@aol.com.

Patty Bransford and Kim Belcher are the Chairmen of ourMaggie’s Meals committee this coming school year.

Shadows Wanted . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .We need shadows this year to fill positions that will beopen next year. Shadows work along with the chairman ofa committee to learn what it takes to do the job. As ashadow, you might also come up with some new ideas -they are always welcome.

Right now, we need shadows for Fundraising andLuminaries.

Movie DirectorThis position continues to be open. What could be morefun than selecting a movie each month and meetingmembers at the movie theater? This person’s responsibilityis to choose a movie, a date and a time. Communicationswill send out an email with the details and you just have tomeet at the New Vision Theatres on Fleming Island.
