² RenEn domains: Photovoltaics/CSP + Grid ² 4 Years project : 1 September 2013 – 31 August 2017
² Total Budget: 6 302 510 €
² EC contribution: 5 261 726 €
² 17 Partners : 8 EU + 9 MPCs (6 MA, 3 EG)
² 7 research centres, 4 Universities, 3 Agencies, 2 SMEs, 1 LE

• Developing new technologies in 3 energy fields area, namely photovoltaics, concentrated solar power and grid integration, at the EU research centres, EU or national agencies and SMSs in strong collaboration with universities, research organizations and SMSs/industries from Morocco and Egypt
• Establishing strong networking between EU and MPCs through exchange of students, senior researchers/engineers who will be the vehicles for transferring knowledge and technologies
• Disseminating the results of the projects through the organization of summer schools, workshops and conferences open to large public from universities, engineering schools and stakeholders involved in the 3 selected energy area and beyond

q Development of Inorganic Thin Film Solar Cells & Modules with efficiencies approaching 12% q Advanced/improved heliostats and Identification of an optimized decoupled combined cycle for storage q Strategies for power balancing for Grids in Morocco & Egypt q Training of students/researchers in the field of RenEn q Synergy creation amongst the project partners, leading to better visibility of their research & development work in PV, CSP and Grid q Creation of an Associated International Lab between EU/MPCs involved q Launching an EUMed Master Degree on renewable Energies
Workpackage 7: Roadmap (Education & Training components)
• Survey to relevant stakeholders with the special focus on Morocco and Egypt, on the relevant education courses (at Bachelor, Master and PhD level) • Identification of different needs in terms of education and training
• Proposal of the creation of an International Master in Renewable Energy

• Identifying the existing master programmes
• First Taskforce meeting in April 2014: Agreement on the added value of an EU-MED master on RenEn
• Discussion launched on objectives and the structure (content, management, funding, procedures, evaluation, degree)
