Read M-STEP Online Administration Directions in advance
During testing, read Administrative Directions exactly as worded to students
Distribute and collect test materials (test tickets, headphones, scratch paper, graph paper) and return to building coordinator
Monitoring is Critical Move around the room to monitor screens and student progress
Not a time to be on computer, working on lesson plans, checking papers, etc.
Remain in the room at all times unless replaced by trained staff member
Go to student if he/she has a question - students should not get up and come to you during testing
Report any incidents of questionable student behavior or deviations in test administration
Testing Close Out Procedures
• You will be given: Student Tickets, scrap paper or graph paper, writing utensils, headphones (ELA only), 3 envelopes labeled “Absent, Complete and Needs More Time”
• Absent- Any student that did not show at all
• Complete-Any student that completed the test during the allotted test time
• Needs More Time- Any student that is not complete at the end of allotted time
Watch in monitoring that students are completing
open responses.
Response, such as IDK, will show as question
completed when reviewing test at end.
Watch in monitoring that they complete each section of problem.
Incomplete answer shows as completed in Review.
Instruct students to raise their hand when they
have completed all questions
so that you can review.
Check to see if all questions have been
completed.
Students should ONLYpush “End Test” when
teacher is present.
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT STUDENTS DO NOT END TEST WITHOUT PROCTOR REVIEW
• ALL STUDENTS MUST RAISE THEIR HAND BEFORE SUBMITTING. ONCE A STUDENT SUBMITS WE CANNOT GET TEST BACK.
While you are reading test directions to students, it is very common for students to click ahead. Some students may reach the “begin test” button before you direct students to begin. In some cases, the student may begin
the test. When the student realizes he or she has gone too far, their tendency is to click out of the test, and it is not uncommon for the student
to click the “end test” button during this process.
Once test ended, student should click through until able to close INSIGHT
and Teacher can see the desktop or home screen.
DON’T HIT END TEST FOR STUDENTS, REVIEW THEIR ANSWERS
FIRST FOR COMPLETION THEN DIRECT THEM TO END TEST.
