(D) Conclusions

1. Most of the respondents settled in Tseung Kwan O, which is a new town and has flourished recently, only within this decade.

2. We have to note that the survey was conducted in the morning around a residential area in this district. Hence, most women interviewed are either housewives or domestic helpers.

3.The working women interviewed are most likely Filipino maids who work for many hours each day and earn less than HK $5,000 per month. Even though the working conditions are not favourable, most respondents are happy with their job and their boss.

5. A majority of women living in the district considers that the public facilities including shopping centers, markets, childcare centers, schools, hospitals and recreational facilities are enough for the local population.

6. We can conclude that most of the women living in Tseung Kwan O lead a happy life here!

4. Most families in Tseung Kwan O are nuclear families with 1 or 2 kids and some may have a maid to help them. The majority has to do a lot of housework, including cooking, shopping and housekeeping everyday. However, an overwhelming majority enjoys their life-style and their work.
