5° openbare bibliotheek: een

basisvoorziening waar elke burger terecht kan

met zijn vragen over kennis, cultuur, informatie

en ontspanning. Ze bemiddelt actief bij het

beantwoorden van deze vragen. De openbare

bibliotheek is actief inzake cultuurspreiding en

cultuurparticipatie; ze werkt in een geest van

objectiviteit en vrij van levensbeschouwelijke,

politieke en commerciële invloeden.
