Module 2“Advancing towards mastery”

What is this module about?

This module is to improve and practice acquired skills, and to instill additional information to

the learner. And this module presents new letters, abbreviations and derivatives, then gives practice to

the former lessons while familiarizing and mastering the new ones.

What you are expected to learn?

1. Master the keys in the Machine Shorthand Keyboard

2. Explain the functions of of the keys and the keyboard shortcuts on each letter.

3. Discuss the importance of speed to Machine Shorthand.4. Discuss the typing standards, GWAM and error-free typing.

5. Illustrate the proper home key position and proper key striking.

How to learn from this module?

As a Machine Shorthand Device is not available the student is left to imagine the keyboard andthe essentials to it. There are given activities and self-checks in this module and they should be

answered honestly for the student to achieve the expected outcome.

NEW KEYS: Initial C and Final C (-C)

 Note: There are two sounds of C – the hard C, whick is represented by K like car (kar) and the

soft C which is represented by S like City (siti)

Initial C. Hard C (K) is written by the left ring finger below letter T and soft C is written by the left

small finger.

Final -C is represented by the letter combination BG. These keys are written by the right middle andring fingers below homekeys PL.
