Welcome to Leadership, Team Building & Effective Management
I’m delighted that you’ve chosen 715 as one of the elective
experiences in your advanced degree program here at UWM.
In the context of our Mission, you’ll be able to plan to achieve
important leadership, team-building and effective management
goals of your own as we explore our key topic areas. The topics
are taught by 35 engaging, data-driven teachers using
contemporary research targeted for practicing managers.
During our time together, you’ll write three Case Memos to
provide specific solutions to topic-driven cases. You’ll create
three Personal Apps to transfer what you learn in 715 to your
own professional or personal life. You’ll contribute to an ongoing
robust conversation on our Mission topics. You’ll interact with
five local Featured Guests who will share their leadership stories
with us. Finally, you’ll take part in the Ultimate 715 Challenge.
This Critical Task includes giving and receiving feedback about
how well you and your small team performed in this demanding
real-world test of your ability to apply what we’re learning.
You and I will connect in class. We’ll also interact via the Dropbox
as you submit your Case Memos and Personal Apps. I’ll provide
written feedback to you on these Critical Tasks.
If there is anything you need to make this the best possible
learning and development opportunity for you, and, who knows,
maybe even one of the best experiences in your UWM graduate
career, please let me know.
As your “boss” in 715, the most important part of my job is to
make sure that you’re 100% successful achieving our Mission,
your own personal goals for the experience and earning the most
you can for the work you deliver.

NOTES A Panel of Three Outside Guest Leaders will score and provide feedback to each of our four competing teams on the quality and impact of their 715 Ultimate Team Challenge recommendations & presentation on August 16.
This is a highly competitive Stack Ranking team experience. It tests each team’s ability to integrate their own experience and leadership vision with the topics we’re exploring in class to meet a specific challenge. Each team member earns the same amount of compensation for the team’s final product as determined by the Panel. Here’s the Payment Schedule:
Frist Place – Each member earns $32K
Second Place – Each team member earns $28K
Third Place – Each team member earns $24K
Fourth Place – Each team member earns $20K
There will be six or seven people on each of our four self-selected Ultimate 715 Challenge teams.
Our Last Night together is the most important, engaging and fun of all. The pressure’s off; our work is done; it’s time to celebrate! Be there for the conversation, the food & beverages, the awards and a special tribute to you as an individual contributor to the 2016 Summer Edition of 715.

Each team member receives the same comp for this Critical Task based on the team’s finish in the Ultimate 715 Challenge Warning: This is a Stack Ranking Team Competition (See Week Six NOTES Above)

You’ll provide specific, candid, respectful feedback in writing to each of your 715 Challenge team members and receive specific feedback from each of them in return. Your boss compiles all feedback and shares it with each individual student; your anonymity is protected. You in turn will know what your team said about you, but you won’ know which team member said what.

4. Incompletes. A notation of "incomplete" may be given in lieu of a final grade to a student who has

6. Academic misconduct. Cheating on exams or plagiarism are violations of the academic honor code

8. Grade appeal procedures. A student may appeal a grade on the grounds that it is based on a

department chairperson or the Academic Dean of the College/School.
