LAB REPORT-
Comparing Densities: Regular Coke
Vs.
Diet Coke
INTRODUCTION Density is a measure of a substance’s mass relative to the amount of space it takes up .Density is measureable characteristic of ALL substances, and is generally recorded in grams per cubic centimetre (g/cm3) if the substance is a SOLID .If the substance is a LIQUID, and then grams per millilitre (g/ML) are used as units.
Density – D = M over V
Waters Density = 1 gram per millilitre of volume
In this experiment we will be taking a jar that is filled with 3L water and drop one can of regular coke and one can of diet coke into the jar to see which one has a higher density and which one has a lower density then the other .
Question: Which soft drink has a higher density, regular coke or diet coke?
Hypothesis:
I think that diet coke has a lower density then regular coke because the regular coke has more substances in it, and diet coke has less of all the stuff that’s in the regular one.
