Today's readings emphasize God's strength and power throughout history, and even in
our personal lives. In the face of the evildoers who wish to hinder the mission of the prophet Jeremiah, God brings strength to the just and the powerless, whose voices are heard through the prophet's denunciations. In the Gospel, Jesus assures his apostles that they need not fear, for no one can quench the power of the Spirit. The Father, who cares for the smallest of all creatures, cares deeply for each of them with strength and with love. In carrying out the apostolic mission, there may be many obstacles, but nothing can diminish the strength of the Holy Spirit. This is the message of the Church, proclaimed on a daily basis by Pope Francis, who proclaims the presence of God in the poor and the marginalized, denouncing the greed of the powerful on earth who seek only to satisfy their own needs above those of the needy throughout the world. Take the time to look over the petitions of the church community in light of the Scriptures, music selections, and the homilies of this week. Then, the word proclaimed can take root in its local context and find an authentic expression among its hearers.

From the Desk of Father Kurt
“For if by the offense of the one man all died, much more did the grace of God and the gracious gift of the one man, Jesus Christ, abound for all.”
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, should be our constant prayer. What a gift we have in Jesus, and yet how often do we worry about things that are not important in the larger picture. Jesus suffered and died to erase our sins. He is there for us anytime we need him and yet so often in our lives we would rather pretend that we don’t need him.
A life of surrender to the will of God is a grace filled live. If we are asking the question, what does God want of me, we are on the right track, because God will never lead us astray. If we are counting on our own ability to achieve a happy life we will fail miserably. Let us count on Jesus who will never let us down.
Love in Christ Father Kurt Farrell

Adoption Information: Catholic Charities offers free adoption information
meetings to help you learn about the process to begin
building your family. We have adoption social workers in Winona,
Rochester, Mankato and Worthington who offer home studies for
international and domestic infant adoption.
Please email adoption@ccsomn.org
or call 507-287-2047 to schedule an information meeting.
Office of Safe Environment: We are again reminded of
the work that remains for ALL in helping to provide an environment that keeps children and vulnerable adults safe. The Diocese of Winona/Rochester requires that ALL church employees are VIRTUS trained and have a current background check on file. All volunteers that work with or come in contact with children are also required to be VIRTUS trained and have a current background check on file. Even if you don’t come in contact with children on a regular basis, it is a good idea to be trained to ensure that St. Theodore is a safe place for all. Trained individuals help in making our church environment and activities safe. The more who are trained the safer our environment and activities become. In light of the current health concerns, one prudent and preventative measure the Diocese is taking currently is to make the VIRTUS® Protecting God's Children training available Online as an option. Temporarily replacing the LIVE Protecting God’s Children training, individuals are encouraged to become VIRTUS trained easily, it the comfort and safety of their home. Please go to our parish website, sttheo.org, and click on the “Online VIRTUS Training Instructions”. Step-by-step instructions are available to go online and take the VIRTUS training! If you need additional assistance, please contact the parish office at 507-373-0603. Please prayerfully consider taking a little extra time out of your day to help St. Theodore’s continue to build a safe environment supported
