The building sets up a fragment of an intimate space within the vast riverside park. Extended roof covers heated exhibition space and adjacent open-air café. Both parts drive each other, forming a fully accessible stop-over for the park visitors.

Flat northern elevation.

Senior house, Seinäjoki, Finland

Supervisor: prof. Ilmari Lahdelma

Revitalisation of a government building (originally designed by Alvar Aalto), based on introducing a new function.

government building

Nowadays, Civic Center by Alvar Aalto does not overlap with actual Seinäjoki center. The complex remains as a quiet enclave.

Function of a senior house fits the local atmosphere. The nearby library, theatre and the church create environment especially suitable for the elderly.

The former office function is preseved within the presented part of the building.

The former office function is preseved within the presented part of the building. The senior house is found in the southern segment, facing the residential neighbour-hoods. These housing units -inserted into existing structure- are lit from two sides.

Upper floor unit arrangment.Ground floor appartment extension with porch.

Multi-layered vegetation screens-off existing parking lots. The house’s functional section also consists of saunas, gym/rehabilitation halls and workshops.

Coworking and microfirms office, Warsaw-Sluzewiec.

supervisors: M. Goncikowski, P. Grodzicki (APA Kurylowicz&Associates)

Flexibility of the offices is the primary idea for the building. Since they are adjust-able in three dimensions, their scale and character should fit individual workers, as well as little firms.

A building designed inwards declines any relation with its chaotic surroundings.

Air traffic control tower, Modlin, Poland.

supervisor: dr Radosław Achramowicz

Diplomma design of a middle-sized tower controlling the ground and approach space of Modlin - newest polish airport.

The building follows the logic of the very first aircrafts. Having no superfluous elements, the pure structure is clearly separated from the soft infill.

Each of deep slabs (installations) serves a different function.Polycarbonate panels provide required acoustic isolation.Pipe truss supports the slabs through thermally broken connectors.

Communication shaft is the only concrete element within the whole building.

Communication shaft is the only concrete element within the whole building. Floor plans are freely shaped around the stiff core.

Depending on the lighting conditions, polycarbonate walls either reveal the interior partitions, or subtly reflect the surroundings.

Semi-transparent finishing materials emphasize by contrast the clearly framed outside view.
