THE ISLE OF MAN

The Isle of Man is located exactly half way between England and Ireland.

Legend tells that the Island was made by two giants fighting .

One in England the other in Ireland, the giants threw small boulders until one lost his temper and grabbed a mountain and hurled it. The mountain landed in the middle of the sea, this is now the Isle of man.

In actual fact the island is the top of an undersea volcano, that lays dormant.

The island is 15 miles wide and 30 long.

The island is 90% uninhabitedWith the 80 thousand inhabitants living around the coast

Because of its seclusion over the years, the isle of man has unique culture and animals.

And the starting point of the Tourist Trophy motorcycle race.

Douglas is the capital of the island.

The TT or Tourist Trophy is the largest road race in the world.

Motorcycles and sidecars of all sizes are raced.

During the races people and promotional crews from all over the world flock to the Island.

The population doubles with motorcycle fanatics during the races.

Races are held on the main roads around the coast and through the housing areas.

Because the race is held in the streets, the TT is the most dangerous race in the world.

My uncle was one of the people who crashed in the race.
