• Data Modeler is a component that enables you to model data in Oracle Business Intelligence Cloud Service.
• Data modeler use fact tables, which contain data for measuring business performance, and dimension tables, which contain values that represent the business entities you measure.
• Data Modeler enable to add source tables and views to the model, specify joins, create hierarchies to support drilling, and perform other data modeling tasks on Oracle Field Service cloud data.
• Example Activity, Message & User Data Models will be provided.

• Integration enables the delivery of Oracle Field Service Cloud Daily Extract Files to Oracle Business Intelligence Cloud
• Daily Extract files are delivered on a daily basis
• Configuration set up required for Integration:
• Business Intelligence Cloud Service Access Configuration
• Business Intelligence Cloud Service Event Data Configuration
• Integration setup is be available in Oracle Field Service Cloud under Configuration -> Daily Extract Configuration

• Select BICS settings to access the connection configuration
• Enter the Oracle Business Intelligence Cloud Service authentication parameters including:
• URL
• Identify Domain
• User Name
• Password
• Confirm Password
• Select Test Connection followed by OK

• Event Data Configuration defines the data to be pushed to Oracle Business Intelligence Cloud Service

• The Data Configuration XML contains Daily Extract Configuration used the example Data Model and Reports
– Download configuration xml file Demo_Daily Extract Configuration.xml (Need to update with Repository path once finalized)
– Go to Oracle Field Service Configuration page, select Daily Extract Configuration
– Click Import option
– Locate and Import the Demo_Daily_Extract Configuration.xml file that you downloaded above

– Daily Extract Configurations will be imported to Oracle Field Service Cloud
Note: Impact of importing a configuration XML to the existing configurations
– Importing the file will overwrite an existing configuration with same name. A warning message should appear prompting you to agree to the change.
– Configuration with different names will be updated along with the existing configuration.

• Download sample data model OFSC_DataModel_Snapshot.bar from attachments
• Open console in Oracle Business Intelligence Cloud Service instance and select Snapshots and Models

• In the newly opened form choose the downloaded file data_model.bar, provide the password 11111111 and click OK button

• Click Manage snapshot button in the right corner of newly uploaded data mode.
• Select Restore item from menu

• Inserting missing views into data model
• Go to modeler and open data model OFSC_DEMO
Note: Snapshot file doesn’t contain the views ACTIVITY_TYPE & PROVIDER_TYPE. User has to manually insert this into Oracle Business Intelligence Cloud data model for the working of example data model & reports.

• Click on Lock to Edit on the right corner for updating the modeler

• From the Database menu in the left pane, click Actions, then click Create View

• Go to Catalog and choose OFSC-DEMO folder to see all the sample reports created with the data model
Note:
• Example Data Models and Reports are dependent on the data being pushed as part of the Daily Extract file
• User should make sure that Daily Extract file has been delivered with appropriate data.
