<Core value proposition>see notes below

.

<for example: We are developing solar cell materials that operate at higher efficiencies and can be manufactured at lower cost than existing solutions.>.

Timeframe

►Introduction to the opportunity [~ 2 minutes]

►Demonstration & explanation of your solution/technology [~ 2 minutes]

►Introduction to the scientist/innovator and background on the invention [~ 1 minute]

►Next steps in maturation of the innovation [~ 1 minute]

►Questions & Answers [~ 4 minutes]

(Special note: Try to keep this and all slides as simple and to the point as possible.)

Introduction to the opportunity

• <List the inspiration for this solution. What existing need is being addressed, or industry pain being resolved? This is where you persuade the audience that the technology or solution you are about to present was not created “for its own sake” BUT that there is a real need for it and people will care enough to give your company money for it.>

• <If you can… identify who will care and why>

• <If you can, …explain why existing solutions are not sufficient or effective.

• <If you can… identify how big is the addressable opportunity is, e.g., a €1 billion market size for your specific piece of the solution.>

Demonstration of the solution/technology

• <Make the solution easy to understand, interesting, and if you have a “wow” be sure that the audience fully understands why what you are about to show is compelling.>

• <Many of the INSEAD students are not scientists, so the invention must be explained in simple terms.>

Introduction to the scientist/innovator(s)

• <your bio as it relates to the invention>• <anyone else who will be involved in maturing the

technology and collaborating with INSEAD>

Next steps in the maturation process

• <What are the logical next steps in the product and market development of the innovation? Must a prototype be developed, final product design considered, market need better understood, sales channel explored, strong team recruited, etc.?>

Questions & Answers
