Human infants are born without any
culture. They must be transformed by theirparents ,teacher and others into culture andsocially adept animals. The general process ofacquiring culture is referred to as socializationsocialization.During socialization, one learn the language ofculture one are born into as well as the roles onehas to play in life .e g a girl learn how to be a
daughter, sister, friend ,wife and a mother.

Behavioural scientists regard socialisation as
one of the principal ways by which societies
perpetuate themselves. It is through the process
of socialization , culture and religious values are
transmitted from one generation to the next. It is
the term used for the process by which
individuals learn and perform the behaviour
expected of them by the society.
