The desired Reading Fluency entering into Second Grade is 40 – 60 words per minute on

grade-level with 94% accuracy.

Fluency Formula: # of words read correctly, Divided by # of seconds to read whole passage Multiplied by 60 = fluency

Accuracy Formula: total # of words minus errors made, Divided by total # of words in passage Multiplied by 100 = accuracy
