PRESIDENT’S CORNER

By Tom Martin

Hicks Airfield – 15-15-15-15-15!!!

Last month we as Americans have experienced two tragic events. Our thoughts and prayers go to the

families and friends of those that suffered.

We need to constantly remind ourselves of the great country, state, and lifestyle that we are accustomed

too. Probably taking things for granted……….something to think about.

15-15-15-15-15

With summer fast approaching we have several small projects planned that will improve our Airport.

Paving and striping tenta#vely scheduled for the first part of June and concrete around the gate keypad

at the entrance and we may see a new loca#on for the mailboxes soon.

15-15-15-15-15

And by the way – we need to remind ourselves and all of our friends that visit the airport that our speed

limit is 15mph!!!! It is for our flying and driving safety and our liability insurance for the Airport requires

the reduced speed (and saves us big money on the premiums that we pay)!

It’s not too much to ask and hopefully not everyone is in such a hurry that it’s necessary to drive at the

speeds we all have observed. It starts with us – set the standard – observe the 15mph limit – and

communicate the importance to those that choose to ignore the safety reasons reason behind it.

Please remember this is your airport and our monthly Board of Directors Mee#ng will be held May 9 at

the Beacon Café. Let your voice be heard and join us for the mee#ng.

Best Regards,

T M
