Conclusion A young and relatively well-to-do population
with growing health and social services needs; Demographics that point to significant needs by
2015, due to an ageing population; Increased volumes in the past and projected
higher needs by 2015; Therefore, will need more human resources and
more space to provide the services; Need to retain our current resources by adding
more staff for the future.
14
Our objectives Improve local access to quality health
services; Increase our autonomy in our area by
providing health services to our population;
Develop high-tech facilities similar to other CSSS in the Outaouais, to promote our self-sufficiency;
Increase our capability to respond to the growing health needs of our population throughout the area, in short-stay and at the emergency. 15
Business plan proposal Build a new emergency at the Hospital; Dedicate new space for a full-service high-tech
emergency and external clinics ; Build 2 new 40-bed nursing homes; ideally in
Chelsea and … Enhance CLSC services (FMG and IPS); Complete range of diagnostics capable of
responding to complex cases in emergency and in external clinics Onsite Laboratory Radiology Medical imaging: including scan, ultrasound and
echography
16
Doing all we can… The CSSSC is facing a $1 million budget deficit Budget cuts totalled $754 000 in past 4 years Overflow at emergency exceeds our human
resources capabilities Wait times for community services are rising as
no additional resources have been added in 10 years
More that 4120 residents without a family doctor Too few nurses and social workers to meet
demand: Increase in demand for elder care 26% growth amongst youth in our schools since 2010 142% increase in youth with physical disabilities since
2008 164% increase in demand for mental health services
since 2008 11% growth in birth rate since 2006
