The food: “Pa amb tomaquet”

• One of the most delicious Catalan specialties is Pa amb Tomàquet. This dish is as tasty as easy to prepare. You only need some bread, tomatoes, olive oil and salt. Spread the pulp of the tomato on a slice of bread, pour as much olive oil as you like and add some salt.

• You can also accompany this dish with a good Manchego cheese or Catalan ham.

Traditions:Human castlesIn Igualada, as in many other places

in Catalonia, we build human

castles than can be really high.

Traditions: Giants and dragons

• Almost all the Catalan villages and towns have some giants made of wood who dance at the festivals.

Traditions: dragons and demons

• Many towns have their own dragons and demons who dance spiting fire.

Igualada

• Its name comes from the Latin word “aqualata” meaning flooded with water.
