The Sponsors
After much planning and organisation the Guerrilla Lighting Manchester, 2009 Event took place on 1st December 2009.
Guests assembled at BDP’s Ducie Street offices from 18:00 for final briefing before setting off for the planned target sites. The weather didn’t let us down and can only be described as a freezing cold, wet evening, but thankfully this didn’t put the guests off and they turned out in force.
Site 1 on Beaver Street brought many a giggle as the entrance to the car park was is in use 24 hours, so the final lights in the road saw people dashing around to put them in place to avoid them being crushed by a car. Also, Philip’s Arlivan allowed the Lux Bomber to be projected for the first time during a Guerrilla event.
Site 2 Railway Arches; an extremely dark unwelcoming area of the city became a bright, vibrant and somewhat inviting place to be, once the Guerrillas had brought some fantastic light to this area.
Next stop the ACDC Bus. This was just amazing with a gang of freezing cold and wet Guerrillas packed on board, it was great to be invited for a warm Mulled Wine and mince pie. A big thank you to those who hosted this!
And finally, Site 3 the TCS Car Park on Ducie Street. By now it’s getting late and everyone is feeling the cold, but in still surprisingly in fantastic spirits. Everyone into position on the various levels, lights in place, claxon sounds – strike a pose (and hold it, for what seems like an age).
The job is complete, the photographs and videos are done, so now to reap the rewards and off to a local venue for well earned team drinks, with thanks to We-ef!
Well done to everyone who took place, we certainly feel this event was a huge success and the final photographs certainly prove this. Thank you all for turning up and contributing to the night and thanks to Sanna Fisher-Payne and David Barbour our Photographers.
Congratulations!!
