Portfolio requirements due 1st semester:(pages 7-8 & 32 in Graduation by Portfolio Handbook)
DECEMBER 17 -- Last day for teachers to return graded semester artifacts to students
JANUARY 7 -- Last day to upload semester 1 artifacts to portfolio
JANUARY 21 -- End of 1st semesterPortfolio requirements due at this time:
• 6 required-academic artifacts• Career Cruising components updated and completed • Seniors also need to have uploaded copies of post-secondary applications or post-
high school plan if not attending college

• Because your interests, knowledge base, and experiences change each year, these assessments must be updated each year
1. From any screen in Career Cruising, click the “Assessment” tab at the top; select “Career Matchmaker.”

Step 1: Career Interest Survey
When your assessment is complete, a list of suggested careers will appear.
Career ‘Cluster Recommendations’ showsmore related career options to investigate.
But you’re not finished yet!

Select ‘Answer more questions’ to complete all 116 questions. Status bar shows progress.
You can change the education level.
You can see how other careers match up to your criteria.

Follow the same procedure to complete the Skills Assessment
Status bar will be completely red when finished.
SAVE RESULTS!!!!
Step 2: Skills Assessment
Clicking on a Career allows you toinvestigate aspects ofthat career.
You can listen to interviews or see photos.
Save your top careers of Interest to your portfolio.
Step 3: The Results
*You need 3 – 5 careers saved in your portfolio.
*Your careers of interest should be a factor when selecting classes for next year and researching colleges.

Step 4: Learning Style Inventory
The next assessment to complete is the “Learning Styles Inventory.”
Make sure you save the results to your portfolio before you log out.
Step 5: Ability Profiler
The last assessment to complete is the “Ability Profiler” which is optional, but recommended.
This is a timed assessmentthat will be offered on the HSPE testing days. To take the Ability Profiler, you:
• Must be 16• Cannot have taken the GATB or O’Net
in the last 6 months• Must have completed the other Career Cruising assessment and saved the
results.
Step 5: Ability Profiler
This assessment tests your:
• Clerical Perception• Computation• Verbal & Spatial Ability• Arithmetic Reasoning
Examining how your current levelof ability compares to theoccupations that match yourinterests helps you evaluatehow well you match up with those required for that career.
IMPORTANT NOTE: You need to have these assessments/surveys done by January 21.
Failure to complete this task on time will result in progressive discipline consequences including being assigned to Lunch Detention
