Denouncingtheviolenceagainstwomen,PrimeMinisterNarendraModitodaysaidonestopcentresandmobilehelplineswillbesetupforwomenindistress.

Ourheadshanginshamewhenwehearofinstancesofcrimeagainstwomen.Wemustwalkshouldertoshouldertoendallformsofdiscriminationorinjusticeagainstwomen,hesaidinamessageontheoccasionofInternationalWomensDay.

Today,werenewourpledgetomakewomenanequalandintegralpartofourdevelopmentjourney.MyGovernmenthasinitiatedseveralmeasuresaimedatbringingaboutapositivechangeinthelivesofwomen.ThatiscentraltoourvisionofIndiasprogressandalifeofdignityandopportunityforallourcitizens,thePrimeMinistersaid.

Seekingthesupportofallintransformingthevisionintoreality,hesaid,TheGovernmentissettinguponestopcentresthatwillprovideassistance,legaladviceandpsychologicalcounsellingtowomenwhofaceviolenceorabuse.TheGovernmentisalsocommencingamobilehelplinetoenablewomentodial181foraccesstocounsellingandreferralservices.

Throughvariousschemes&initiatives,ourGovernmentremainsfullycommittedtobringingapositivechangeinthelivesofwomen,thePrimeMinistersaid,whilesalutingtheindomitablecourage&outstandingachievementsofwomenonInternationalWomensDay.

HenotedthattheUnionBudgethadunveiledbroadbasedsocialsecurityschemessuchasthePradhanMantriSurakshaBimaYojana,PradhanMantriJeevanBimaYojanaandAtalPensionYojanawhichwillbenefitwomeninabigway.

TheBetiBachao,BetiPadhaoYojanaseekstousherinaparadigmshiftinattitudestowardsthegirlchildandplacesemphasisoneducatingthegirlchildwhiletheSukanyaSamruddhiYojanawillprovidesupportformarriageandeducationofyoungwomen,hesaid.
