The readings for this 12th Sunday of Ordinary time give us two great messages. First, a message of “Do not be afraid” and second a message of “Courage”. Both messages need to be heard today and taken to heart. The prophet Jeremiah was under going huge doubts in his ministry. The people were not listening to him and even worse attacking him because of his message. Yet Jeremiah continued to speak the truth of God’s Holy Word to the people. He was reminded that God always hears the cry of the poor, those on the fringes of society. The second reading and the Gospel give us the theme of courage. The great Nelson Mandela said; “ Courage is not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.” Jesus said “Fear is useless, what is needed is trust.” To live our lives as believing Roman Catholics today takes courage and the resolve to not being afraid. To say all people are created in God’s image and likeness, to say all people are entitled to basic human dignity, respect and justice, to say all life is sacred from conception to a natural death. To say these things today, takes courage and not to be afraid of what other people may think or say. And that is what we are called to do, to speak the truth regardless of the outcome. Just has the prophet Jeremiah did in his day. Many thanks to the staff of Good Shepherd Parish for the first ever parking lot Mass. We will continue these outside Masses, weather permitting, for the future. Many folks still have concerns about their health and medical conditions, which prevent them from coming into the church, even with so-cial distancing. But they still want to receive the Lord in the Holy Eucharist. Having folks stay in their cars and attend an outside Mass answers their need. So spread the word, we have the FM transmitter, so you can hear the music, reading and Mass right over your own car radio. And Commun-ion will be given out as you leave in your cars. Last week was a huge success. Fr. Dave Pastor – Good Shepherd Parish
We would like to thank Joan Ferguson and family for their generous donation of the garden at the
base of our beloved statue of the Sacred Heart on the side of St Zepherin Church. Donated in
memory of her parents. The Ferguson family has long been involved in our parish community and we
are so grateful for their generosity. Joan and her landscaper Angel worked in conjunction with our
own Michael Mullens of J & M Landscape to com-plete the garden. It is a beautiful spot to pray.

PROJECTS UPDATE AS OF JUNE 5, 2020
We are excited to report that J.G. Electric, owned by Jay Gebhardt, one of our faithful parishioners, got the St. Zepherin’s electric service upgrade
contract. As of last F r i d a y , h i s technicians started to run the required wires for the AC split units that will be installed at St. Zepherin Church. The work to u p g r a d e t h e electric panel will follow shortly. We are still
waiting for the last two quotes to select a company for the new AC system and new heating system project. A company will be hired in the next few days to do both jobs at St. Zepherin. We have also contracted with Access A/V to begin the addition of a camera and better sound for our continued filming of the Masses at St Ann Church. We received 3 quotes and after review hired the company that has wired the Town of Wayland buildings for WayCam TV.
WE THANK YOU FOR YOUR ONGOING SUPPORT OF OUR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS!

Please join us in welcoming Emilia Cowell as our new Director of Youth Ministry . She has been serving at St. Mark and St. Ambrose Parishes in Dorchester and brings with her a wealth of experience, creativity and enthusiasm. Emilia will be directing the middle school and confirmation religious education programs as well as the youth ministry programs including Leadership. She will be joining the GSP staff in August. Emilia has shared some fun things about herself to help us to start to get to know her. Hello Good Shepherd! My name is Emilia Cowell and I am so excited to be your new Youth Minister! Here are 10 not so secret facts about me. 1.) I am from the San Francisco Bay Area and I am fiercely proud of my home state. Sometimes my parents send me boxes of avoca-dos to survive the winter. 2.) I attended Boston University and it was there that my faith really came alive! It's also when I fell in love with Boston and decided to never leave. 3.) I have a wonderful husband Jared who is a talented musician. This is good, because I cannot sing. I only sing to praise Jesus or appease my daughter. Both Jesus and my daughter are very forgiving audiences. 4.) My daughter Noelle is a 1.5 year old red headed spitfire. She is also the holiest person in our family. You may hear her saying Hi to Jesus at Mass. You may also hear her in other ways at Mass and for that I apologize. 5.) We just moved to Natick! Tell me all the spots I should know about.
6.) I am an artist. The search for beauty and meaning is central to both my spirituality and my art. 7.) I am the cohost of a new web show called Coffee and Donuts. Check it out on the Evangelize Boston Youtube channel! My love of donuts is not an act I promise you. We had donuts at our wedding instead of a cake. 8.) My favorite way to meet people is to grab a coffee and talk one on one. Let me know when you're free! 9.) I've been lucky enough to attend Mass in English, Spanish, Italian, Vietnamese, French, American Sign Language, Tagalog and Latin! 10.) I've worked in youth ministry for 5 years. Walking with teens as they get to know God is a privilege and a blessing. Emilia will begin in August and we wil post her email once it is made available.

Please read the Registration and Safety Protocols that will allow us to gather more safely.y y.
Registering for Mass Participation: The only way for us to gather safely is to do so in very reduced numbers that will allow for social distancing. Each parishioner will need to
sign up to attend a Mass and bring a ticket with them. Please us this link to sign up for a ticket to attend Mass. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/good-shepherd-parish-mass-attendance-st-ann-church-tickets-106333833358 Click the Select a Date link in red on the right side of the Eventbrite page. Please select the Mass/es that you plan to attend and input your registration information. Please list the number to people in your party
who live together and will be able to sit together in a pew. You will receive an email with your ticket confirmation. Print the ticket to bring with you to Mass. Please sign up for the waitlist if you would like to attend and the Mass is full. This will help us with future Mass planning to know how
many parishioners would like to plan to attend. We may also be able to extend additional spots from the waiting list depending on the configu-ration of family groups. If you do not have access to the internet or have any difficulty with the registration process, please call the parish office at 508 650 3545. We will be able to register you by phone.
Before Mass: Please wash hands before leaving home. Feel free to bring a travel-size container of hand sanitizer or hand wipes. Please sanitize your hands as you enter the church. Everyone is required to bring and wear a mask. Maintain social distancing protocols of 6-ft separation entering, sitting and exiting the church. Entrance for Mass will be at the front doors facing Cochituate Road and the side ramp entrance will be only for those who cannot use
stairs. A basket will be available for the offertory collection at each entrance. Seating is limited to insure proper distancing (6-ft apart in all directions). Families and those living in the same household can sit together. Some rows will be blocked off to maintain the required 6ft distancing. Seating will proceed by filling the available pews from the altar front to the back of the church. Ushers will be present to assist with the seating process.
All seating begins 6-ft in from the end of each row to allow for distancing during Communion.
During Mass Pray along with the Mass. A bow or gesture replaces a handshake or other physical signs of peace/greeting during the liturgy. All hymnals have been removed and there will be no congregational singing nor will a choir or cantor be allowed until further notice. At Communion time, parishioners are asked to come to communion by the center aisle and return by the side aisle, observing the 6-ft
distance markers on the floor. Everyone should leave their seat even if you do not plan to receive Communion in order to avoid people having to step over one another.
Holy Communion will be distributed by means of the Consecrated Host only. Please fully extend your arm with hands cupped as the priest/deacon drops the host into your hand. Then step to the side, where the floor is marked, lift up the bottom of your mask and place the host into your mouth before returning to your seat.
Please be mindful to not come into contact with the priest or deacon while receiving Holy Communion. If contact is made, the priest/deacon will purify and sanitize their hands before continuing to distribute Holy Communion. You cannot wear gloves to receive Holy Commun-ion.
Priests, deacons, and other ministers of communion will wear a mask for the distribution of Holy Communion. Remove masks only to receive Holy Communion.
After Mass: At the end of Mass, please leave the church immediately by the doors that you originally entered.
The ushers will guide you row by row from back to front, maintaining the 6-ft distance requirement. Bulletins will be available for pick-up as you leave. The church
