NOVEMBERILLUSTRATION BY LISELOTTE WATKINS

Born in Nyköping Sweden, and currently residing in Milan, Liselotte Watkins first launched her illustration career in New York.

Soon after graduating from the Art Institute of Dallas in the late 1990s, her unique style garnered immedi-ate attention and she landed the prestigious as-signment to illustrate Barney’s make-up advertising every Sunday in The New York Times.

Since then, Liselotte’s drawings have made it into Vogue (UK,USA, Japan, Italy), Elle (USA, UK, France), Glamour (USA, France), Mademoiselle and Über-see. Commercial clients include H&M, Miu Miu, MAC Cosmetics, Sephora, Anna Sui, Rodebjer, Victoria’s Secret and Max Mara.

Her biggest triumph was when Miu Miu chose her illustrations for their Spring/Summer 08 fashion show, featuring them as patterns on ten different dresses.

Signature Valentino and the soul of a Loubi’s sole, the color red is strongly linked with two opposing emotions— love and aggression. Recognized as a stimulant, red is inherently exciting and draws attention. When used as an accent, red has the ability to gain immedi-ate focus on a particular ele-ment.

When worn on clothing, it denotes both confidence and ag-gression. Red increases enthusiasm, stimulates energy, encour-ages action and confidence. So wear that red and strut your stuff.

After working with fashion designer Robert Danes, Taiwan born New York based Sally Tseng launched a line of sleek and simple clothing inspired by men’s tailoring. Stride
