• AchieveTexas is a Texas Education Agency initiative designed to help students (and their parents) make wise education choices.

• It is based on the belief that the curricula of the 21st century should combine rigorous academics with relevant career education.

• When schools integrate academic and technical education, students can see the “usefulness” of what they are learning.

• The system also facilitates a seamless transition from high school to college-COLLEGE READINESS.

Out of every 100 ninth graders….

65 will graduate from high school

39 will enter college

26 are still enrolled in the sophomore year

where he completed the high school internship.

• Jody created a Program of Study and selected a career cluster

• Jody took Health Science and Technology courses in high school

• Jody received her Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in high school and completed all her clinical rotations in high school

• According to her Program of Study, Jody went on to complete 2 years of college and received an Associates Degree and her LVN certification while working at a nursing home as a CNA.

• Jody enjoys working fulltime with benefits at local healthcare facility.

•Phil Created a Program of Study and selected a career cluster•Phil knew what courses to take in high school
