General Information
FINA and the Hungarian Synchronised Swimming Federation cordially invite all FINA
affiliated National Federations to participate in the 16th FINA World Junior Artistic
Swimming Championships 2018 – Budapest, Hungary.
Hosts
The Hungarian Synchronised Swimming Federation in collaboration with the City of
Budapest and Bp2017 Ltd.
The Organizing Committee (OC) is in charge of preparations and organization of the
competition under the control and supervision of FINA TASC and FINA Bureau.

Venue
The event will be hosted in the Duna Arena which was built for the 17th FINA World
Championships 2017. It has hosted swimming, diving and waterpolo events. During
planning the building the special features of artistic swimming were taken into
consideration.

Participants
All FINA affiliated federations are eligible to participate with one Technical Solo, one
Free Solo, one Technical Duet, one Free Duet, one Mixed Technical Duet, one Mixed
Free Duet, one Technical Team, one Free Team and one Free Combination.
Technical and Free Routines may be swum by different athletes.
For Junior World Championships, total number of competitors entered by each
Federation (unless otherwise specified) may not exceed fourteen (14) competitors
including a maximum of two male competitors only if the federation enters Mixed
Duets.
Eligibility Age
15-18 years of age on December 31st (born in 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000)

Awards
Medals wil be awarded for 1st-3rd places in all routine events. Certificates will be
distributed to 1st-12th places.
Practice Practice time in the competition pool will be allocated in blocks based on the number of entries.
Doping control
The conduction of doping control will be the responsibility of Hungarian Anti-doping
Group under the supervision of FINA.
Passport check
During the Technical Meeting passport will be checked for each competitor to verify
sports nationality and determine age eligibility.

Accommodation may be booked on a first come first served basis.

Transportation
All teams and persons accommodated at the official hotels will be provided with all
necessary internal travel and transport arrangements free of charge.
Supervision of the event
FINA Technical Artistic Swimming Committee (TASC) with the Bureau Liaison (as
Chairman) shall be the Management Committee for the Event. Jury of Appeal:
according to FINA Rules and Regulations.
Gala Exhibition
Federations are kindly asked to prepare with a maximum two-minute-long show-like
routine to entertain the public as a worthy end of the competition. Jewelry is strongly
recommended, any other accessories are most welcome.
National Anthems and Music CDs
Team Managers/Coaches are responsible for submitting their music on Audio CDs in
wav format for a high quality sound and /or electronically to the Sound Center
Manager to music@fina-budapest2017.com
Each submission shall be labelled as to event, name of the competitors and national
federation. During practice sessions Team Managers/Coaches should check their
music with the Sound Center Manager.
Insurance Participants are recommended to insure against loss, accidents and damage occurred during the Meet. Weather The daytime temperature in the month of July is usually between 23 and 30 centigrade.
