2. Formulating Hypotheses
Begins with an assumption called Hypothesis.
Hypothesis
Claim (assumption) about a population parameter.
An unproven proposition or supposition that tentatively explains
certain facts or phenomena.
A proposition that is empirically testable.
3. What is Hypothesis testing
A set of logical and statistical guidelines used to make decisions
from sample statistics to population characteristics.
4. Hypotheses Testing
- The intent of hypothesis testing is to formally examine two opposing conjectures (hypotheses),H0and HA.
5. These two hypotheses are mutually exclusive and exhaustive. 6. Sample information is collected and analysed.
