- Natural eel stocks are declining

- Management is Under state control

- 311 236 eels were restocked in 2017

Sturgeons(Acipenseridae)

- Farming started in 1970’s

- Siberian and Russian sturgeon

- Restocking, meat and caviar

- Not very demanding species

regarding environment

- Optimal growth conditions ensure

good results

European crayfish I (Astacus astacus)

- Farming is old tradition

- For conservation reasons

only European crayfish can

be farmed

European crayfish II (Astacus astacus)

- Production ca 0,8 tonnes per year

- For human consumption

and restocking

- Production is marketed in Finland,

Sweden and Estonia
