Holy Days & Holidays as Announced
At each Mass, during the Prayer of the Faithful, we hear that prayers are requested at this Mass for a particular per-son. This is referred to as a “Mass Intention.” This means that this Mass is being offered for the repose of the soul of some-one who has died, or for the special intentions of someone who is still living but requesting prayers for a particular in-tention. If you would like a Mass offered for someone that you have lost, particularly on the anniversary of their death or birthday, please call the parish office to schedule a Mass.

JANUARY 27JANUARY 27JANUARY 27JANUARY 27————FEBRUARY 2 , 2109FEBRUARY 2 , 2109FEBRUARY 2 , 2109FEBRUARY 2 , 2109
Catholic Schools Week begins January 27th! This year’s theme
is “Catholic Schools: Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed.”
For Catholics learning is not simply informa5onal but forma-
5onal. Catholic educa5on invites young people to view the
world and all its wonders through a vision of faith: to learn
why God made the world, us and for what purpose each one
has been put on this earth. Our Catholic schools can freely
speak of science in connec5on to our faith which is increasing-
ly important in our world that demands separa5on of the two.
The Catholic vision for humanity fosters las5ng values that
build personhood and character. We are grateful to all our
parishes for contribu5ng to making this a viable opportunity
here in the North Region. In the North Region, we have 18 elementary schools, 3 middle
& high schools combined, and 4 high schools. This past Sep-
tember, there was a very promising sign in the region when
Malden Catholic opened its School for Girls. All of these
schools enhance opportuni5es for our youngest members and
are a tremendous place of faith and learning that I hope all
our parishes support. The theme for Na5onal Catholic Schools Week 2019 is
“Catholic Schools: Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed.” During the
week schools typically celebrate with Masses, open houses,
and other ac5vi5es for students, families, parishioners, and
community members. Through these events, schools focus on
the value Catholic educa5on provides young people and its
contribu5ons to our church, our communi5es and our na5on.
Support our schools! Encourage enrollment in our Catholic
Schools in the North Region!
For more informa5on, visit www.catholicschoolsboston.org. Sacred Heart School provides a wonderful Catholic Educaon
for youngsters 2.9 years of age up to the 5th grade. Tours of
the school and applicaons are now available. Please contact
Sacred Heart School for more informa5on. You may also in-
quire about the free playgroups that are currently being
offered. 781-592-7581.
