DYNAMIC EQUILBRIUM

When substances A and B are mixed they react to form a substance C until a stable fixed concentration of the three substance exists.

At that stage the reactions continue but the concentrations do not change unless the conditions change

In the following slides the effects of changing the concentration,

temperature and pressure (gases only) are shown – the red and

blue arrows show which way the equilibrium moves as a change is

put into effect.
