NEARLY 200 of Barnsley’s finest haveentered this year’s Faces of Barnsleycompetition – and here they all are inour special free supplement.Now it is over to you to vote for your
favourite and make their dreams ofmodelling stardom a reality.
Each week it is up to you to decide who goesthrough to the next round, so take your time tolook through the supplement and decide whichboy and girl deserve to be the Faces of Barnsley2010.To vote, you will need the unique four-digitcode below each entrant’s photograph. Youcan vote either by telephone or text.To vote by telephone, simply note down thecode and call 0901 307 3281 then followthe instructions. Calls cost 50p from a BTland-line but other networks, mobiles andpayphones may vary.To vote by text message, text FACESfollowed by a space and then the four-
digit code to 83070. For example, to votefor face 0004, text FACES 0004 to 83070.
Texts cost 50p plus standard network rates.If you do not wish to receive details on anyother products and services, key in the
word EXIT at the end of your message. Votes received after the closing date will not be countedbut you may still be charged.The text and telephone votelines for this stage openedat midnight this morning and will remain open until23.59 on Wednesday. Results of who has been shortlisted for the final 60 willbe featured in the Chronicle next Friday.All hopefuls featured here are in with the chance ofwinning a fantastic selection of prizes.The winners of the competition, which is sponsored andsupported by Barnsley College, will each get their handson a £100 gift card to spend in the shops at the MallBarnsley.They will also be signed on to the books of topmodelling agency SY Models, who will get them asmuch work as possible with the aim of launching aprofessional modelling career.Chronicle photographers will treat both winners to aone-on-one photo shoot and images will be filed withSY Models as a digital portfolio. Winners will also get their own DVD presentation casecontaining their images, with their favourite picture onthe cover.The winning boy and girl will be chosen by a panel ofjudges at the glitzy awards ceremony at The Civic onMonday, April 12.

Sarah Young ➤
Sarah is managing director ofmodelling agency SY Models. The
winners will be signed to herbooks. She said: “I think the final’sgoing to be quite glamorous. The
main thing I’ll be looking for isattitude, someone who wants to
succeed and is committed.”
➤ Fergus Justice-Mills
Fergus is development director atThe Civic, the venue for this year’sawards ceremony. He said: “TheCivic is perfect for this kind of high-profile event. We're working hardto make sure it’s special. I’mlooking for someone with thepersonality and charisma torepresent the town.”
Craig Higgins ➤
Craig is marketing manager at theMall Barnsley, which is giving the
winners a £100 shopping voucher.He said: “The retailers in the Mall
provide a big choice and lots oftrends. I’m looking for someone
who’s interested in how they lookand who embodies Barnsley with a
cheeky, fun attitude.”

Gael is a reporter on the BarnsleyChronicle and has been coveringthe competition developmentseach week. She said: “For me, thetop boy and girl will be the oneswho have the self-confidence aswell as the fabulous image neededin the modelling industry. I’mexcited about seeing the talent.”
