• 30% of Americans

• Mostly male

• Majority of blog readers spend more than six hours each week reading blogs.

• Majority of blog readers read more than five blogs daily.

How do I make a blog?

• Go to www.blogger.com

Fill out the Forms for Blogger

Name Your Blog

• Give your Blog a Title, and a Name (Url so people can find it on the web. Copy the text in the picture and Click [Continue] button

Select a stylish layout, i.e. a Template

• Find a template that fits your personality and looks professional. Click the radio button (little circle) under the template of your choice. Then Click [Continue]

Create your first post

• Remember that what you post will be read by perhaps thousands of people and these readers maybe future employers and graduate schools, future friends and spouses, and investigators for government agencies and lawyers.

• In a word write it as if you would want them, history, and your mother to read it.

• Assume the Internet is like an elephant that never forgets even decades later.

The Blog Editor

• The Blog editor is a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor. It is fairly easy to use and works similar to Word.

Adding Members to Your Blog

• Members can contribute remarks to your blog just as you do.

• For this course I will be a member of EVERY blog. Use my email address pkrolak@cs.uml.edu

• Be aware adding offensive remarks, sexual harassment, or pornographic images even nude art will not be allowed in this course. It is grounds for instantaneous removal and a Failing grade.

• Should some add such material to your Blog you are responsible for its immediate removal.
