European PlasticsInnovation AwardsCALL FOR SUBMISSIONS – 2017 Edition

Plastics are the wonder material andthe material of wonders! They are keyenablers of a modern lifestyle, funda-mental to any innovation and a build-ing block for a resource efficient andlow carbon economy.

To raise awareness as to the amazingpotential of this material, SPE andPlasticsEurope will launch the 2017European Innovation Awards competi-tion. For the second time, this innova-tion award will acknowledge the workof companies that thanks to plasticshave introduced and developed a new

idea, a new method, a new product ortechnology that respond to a societalneed while respecting the 3 Ps of Sustainability (People, Planet, Profit).

With this award, PlasticsEurope andSPE want to honour companies thathave excelled with regard to innovationin the plastics industry. This specialaward is accessible for all companiesthat play a role in the value chain ofplastics products, from the largerchemical companies to the plastic converting SMEs, without exceptions.

The Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) and PlasticsEurope arepleased to announce the 2017 edition of the European Plastics Innovation Awards.

Eight categories were defined in which innovative solutions for the plastics industry can be submitted:

JuryThe evaluation of the parts will be made by specialists from different branchesof the plastics industry and the academic institutions, the European Commis-sion and the press. They will represent different European countries to securethe pan-European nature of the award.

Who can submit and until when?Any company that is involved in the developmentand/or production of polymer materials/additives andplastic components can nominate parts for this competition. The deadline is Friday 9 December 2016.

Award NightThe winning parts will be announced at an Awards Ceremony in Brussels in 2017. Exact date and location willbe defined in the coming weeks.
