• If students are not in school, they are not learning!
• Students that are chronically absent always fall behind and are at risk of not graduating
• Classmates of frequent absentees are also affected
• Teachers have to spend time reviewing work than presenting new material

LAUSD ATTENDANCE GOAL
The LAUSD Performance Meter Goal is for students to maintain a Proficient/Advanced attendance rate of 96%
or higher throughout the school year.
This means that students must have:• No more than one absence for every five weeks (25
instructional days) of school • No more than SEVEN TOTAL absences in the school year

resources and interventions.

Intensive Intervention and Recovery Services
• Conduct individual student/family assessments• Participate in multi-disciplinary teams (SART, COST,
SST, etc.)• School Attendance Review Board (SARB)• Refer students to credit recovery and alternative
