ELEVATING VIKINGS HOCKEY:

LOUNGECHANGING AREA
Vikings Hockey is the only team out of
the 21 NCAA sports Lawrence offers
that has its full-time training, practice,
and game site off campus. With the
program’s success comes growth, and
as we have grown, the Lawrence Hockey
roster and coaching staff have simply
outgrown the space we have designated
for the program. The time is now to
harness the energy of our community
and supporter base, seek investments
in a strength of the college, and elevate
the program to new levels.
We believe that each student deserves
their own stall space in our home locker
room—a hockey student-athlete’s
home away from campus. By increasing
the square footage of the room, our
program could add equipment storage,
work areas, and a study lounge. With a
renovated locker room space, we could
appeal to more talented prospective
Vikings and field an even more
competitive roster. Above all, we could
better retain and equip some of our
strongest academic achievers to chase
success in Lawrence classrooms.
We need your help. We cannot do this
alone. This is a seminal moment in
the program’s history, in which we can
elevate the Vikings Men’s Ice Hockey
program at Lawrence University for
years to come. Please consider an
investment in our young men,
coaching staff, and program today.

STEP 1: BUILD A NEW LOCKER ROOMGOAL: $500,000
“ IT IS A TREMENDOUS HONOR TO BE MEMBERS OF THE MOST COMPETITIVE DIVISION
III HOCKEY LEAGUE IN THE COUNTRY. IN ORDER TO KEEP PACE AND SURPASS OUR
OPPONENTS, WE MUST ENHANCE OUR LOCKER ROOM TO ASSIST IN RECRUITING THE BEST
POSSIBLE PLAYERS. OUR STUDENT-ATHLETES HAVE REPRESENTED LAWRENCE UNIVERSITY
AND OUR PROGRAM WITH PRIDE AND PASSION. THEY DESERVE A SPACE TO CALL THEIR
HOME THAT TRULY MEETS THEIR NEEDS AS A VIKING HOCKEY PLAYER.”

STEP 2: BUILD A PROGRAM ENDOWMENTGOAL: $500,000
Once we reach our locker room project goal, we will shift the focus of our initiative and our sights to the building of an endowment
for the Lawrence Vikings Men’s Ice Hockey program. With a profound upgrade to our facility, the need for perpetual funds that
support the maintenance, upkeep, and enhancing of the program for future years will become essential. In order to pursue
excellence as a program, it is essential that we begin to build an endowment that is invested, grows into the future, and, lastly,
distributes a small percentage of its annual earnings that directly benefits Vikings Hockey student-athletes’ recruitment, gear,
travel, and overall experience in perpetuity.
HOW DOES A GIFT TO THE VIKINGS HOCKEY ENDOWMENT WORK?
SIZE OF GIFT FROM DONOR ANNUAL DISTRIBUTION EXAMPLE OF ANNUAL IMPACT
$500,000 Approx. $25,000 annuallyCover the flight costs of all student-athletes for an overseas program trip
$250,000 Approx. $12,500 annually Outfit an entire line of Vikings head-to-toe
$100,000 Approx. $5,000 annually A new travel trunk for the program
$50,000 Approx. $2,500 annually Buy a new set of goaltender’s pads and gloves
$25,000 Approx. $1,250 annually Buy two brand new pairs of skates
$10,000 Approx. $500 annually Buy five brand new sticks
“A NEW LOCKER ROOM WOULD MEAN A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT TO OUR HOCKEY PROGRAM AT LU. THE LOCKER ROOM IS A PLACE WHERE
WE CAN MENTALLY GET AWAY FROM ALL THE STRESSES OF BEING A STUDENT-ATHLETE. A NEW LOCKER ROOM AND AN UPGRADED SPACE
TO CALL OUR OWN WILL CONTINUE THE PROGRESSION OF OUR PROGRAM. IT WILL ENABLE US TO RECRUIT AND COMPETE WITH PRIDE,
PASSION, AND PURPOSE EACH DAY ON AND OFF THE ICE.”
