• Our school theme is displayed around our campus including on the exterior wall behind the gym.

The School Day• 8:55 Students may

enter the building.• 9:05 Official start

time/late bell rings• 11:55 AM

Kindergarten dismissal

• 12:45 PM Kindergarten start

• 3:32 End of student day/dismissal

Transportation• Bus assignments are sent

from Methacton transportation. The direct extension is 25023.

• Car drop-off and pick-up of students is to left at the end of the driveway. Parents must stay in their vehicles.

• Avoid dropping off students in the right hand parking lot where buses are situated.

The Instructional Day• Class/teacher assignment letters are

mailed in August.• Academic subjects include

reading/ILA, math, science, and social studies.

• Specials are PE, Art, Music, and Library.

• Response to Instruction and Intervention (RtII) program helps our struggling readers.

• All students should have a backpack. Individual teachers may also send home a list requesting additional supplies.

• Assemblies & special events are held throughout the year with info sent home in advance.

Policies and Procedures• Dress code can be found in the

handbook on our website.• No gym uniform: be sure to wear

sneakers!• Cell phones/electronic devices are

prohibited.• Attendance: Call Child Check 610-831-

5325 to report your child absent from school.

• Forms available on the website online: educational trip, early dismissal from school, going home with a friend.

• Special Custody arrangements: please share a copy with the main office.

• Volunteer clearances are required. Info is available on the website.

Policies and Procedures• Early departure: Please call the office or

send a note with your child in advance.• After school activities: Please be prompt

when picking up your child.• Students may not return to classrooms

after school hours.• Alert Now: district wide system of

emergency alert info including school closings.

• E-Alert: District-wide system of email information about upcoming events and info.

• Field trips are scheduled by individual grades or classes.

• Recess is held every day and students go outside, weather permitting. Please dress your child for the weather.

• Raptor: All visitors to school must report to the main office. Your driver license will be scanned and an ID badge issued.

Academic Assistance• Mrs. Begley – Reading

Specialist; Mrs. Mimi Barbuto – Instructional Intervention Specialist: work with students identified as needing reading assistance through RtII program.

• RtII Grades K-4; determined through universal screener tests administered 3 times per year: takes place as part of regular daily instruction in addition to reading/ILA instruction.

• Math support from specialist determined by need identified through benchmark tests administered 3 times per year.

Nutritional Information• Mrs. Terri Price is our

Cafeteria Manager.• Breakfast and Lunch are

served daily.• Pricing info will be sent home

at the beginning of the year.• Lunch Tickets are available for

purchase.• Menus are issued at the

beginning of each month.• Free and reduced lunch forms

are available in the main office for those who qualify.

• There are many opportunities to get involved!• Many events are held throughout the year.• Parents provide support for the educational program by serving as

lunchroom helpers, homeroom parents, chaperones, and teacher-requested assistants.

• Home and School President for 2011-2012 is Cheryl Kelly.
