DOUBLE ACTING ICE CLASS TANKER

HULL GEOMETRY2

Designed with the help of BSRA series. Aft has been modified to meet with the ice

breaking requirements ,accommodate twin azipod propeller.

Hydrostatic and bonjean has been calculated manually and checked by span2k.

Resistance & Propulsion4

Résistance has been calculated by following method

BSRA MethodHolltrop – Menon Guldhammer – Harvald Max of the resistance value given by above method has been

selected. Ice resistance has been calculated by formula given in

FSICR.25% allowance has been added to meet with severe climate .Wake fraction and thrust deduction factor has been selected

from FSICR.

Capacity calculation9

Calculated by first principle using AUTO-CAD

Three sections are considered for smaller tank and 5 for larger tanks/spaces.

Capacity, LCG(from AP), VCG (from base line) TCG (from C L) is calculated.

24 segregated ballast tank has been provided.

10 cargo hold has been provided.

Cross curves of stability 10

Trimmed Cross curve and trimmed hydrostatic has been calculated from span 2k.

For intermediate trim cross curves and hydrostatic has been interpolated.

Windage area deck immersion and down flooding angle has been calculated using AUTOCAD.

KG max and GZ min has been calculated for every trim condition using IMO recommendations.
