Birthdays:CarolineCowey—4/13,CharlieSutton—4/18,BrantleyLapp—4/18,Hopeyouhaveawonderfulbirthday!MessagefromthePrincipal:Ihopeeveryonehadawonderfulweek!Wehavebeguntolookatdifferentsafetyissuesaroundcampus.Ourprimarygoalatalltimesistokeepallchildrensafe.Iwanttoremindeveryonethatduringtheschoolday,thehallwaysaresecure.Everyvisitormustsigninattheofficeandsomeoneintheofficewillletthevisitorin.Ifyouneedtoconferencewithyourchild’steacher,pleasecontacttheteacherpriortoavisitsothattheycanarrangeatime.Classtimeshouldnotbeinterruptedforaconference.Wewanttoalwaysmaximizeinstructionaltimeforallstudents.Thoughstaffmayknowyou,theyareaskednottoopenlockeddoorsforanyonethathasnotcheckedintotheoffice.Studentsarealsoaskednottoopenlockeddoorseverfortheirownsafety.Iwantallparentstofeelconfidentthatthereisneversomeoneinourhallsorclassroomsthatshouldnotbethere.Alongwithsafetyconcerns,wehavebeguntochangeproceduresslightlyfordismissal.Theseprocedureswerealreadyinplace,butwe,asastaff,havenotenforcedtherulesasneeded.Thestudentswillbecomingintothegymandsittinginrowswiththeirclass.

Theyneedtositquietly,nottakethingsoutoftheirbackpacks,andlistenfortheirnamestobecalled.Thiswillhelpspeedupthecarlinebecausetheyarelisteningandready.Whenstudentsareloud,thelittleonesandtheirteacherscannothear.Wewanttoensurethatallstudentsarepickedupbytherightpersonandaresafeatalltimes.Ialsowanttoremindparentsthatteachersalwayswanttobeabletotaketimetotalktoyou.Inthegymafterschoolisagoodplacetoseethemforaquickchat.Ijustwanttoremindyouthatallteachersareondutyinthegymwatchingchildren.Ifyouneedtoconferencewiththem,pleasesetupagoodtimetoreallysitandtalktothem.Onemorelittlethingasareminderaboutpolicy:WedonotcelebratethestudentsbirthdaysduringtheschooldayotherthantoblessthemandsingHappyBirthday.Ifyouaresendingcupcakes,forexample,theymustbesealedupinabaggythatcanbesenthomewitheverystudentintheclassattheendoftheday.Thestudentscantheneatitathome.Itismuchmorepreferabletosendonlyahealthysnack.Pleasedonothaveanyflowersorballoonsdeliveredtotheschool.WewillbeoffThursdayafternoon,alldayonFridayandalldayonMonday.IinviteyoutoattendwithyourchildthevariousHolyWeekservicesatSt.Michael’sChurchoratyourownchurch.WehavecompletedourLentenactivitieshereinschool,anditwouldbewonderfulforthechildrentocontinuetoexperiencethemeaningofEasterwiththeirfamilies.MaytherisenChristfillyourheartwithjoy,bringyounewhope,andblessyouwithpeace.AmenHappyEaster!
