LIFESPAN LITERACY CENTER focuses on addressing the individual

literacy needs of the child.

Does your child need some help with reading?

Thirty-three percent of American fourth graders read below the "basic" level on the National Assessment of Educational Progress reading test. The "basic" level is defined as "partial mastery of the prerequisite knowledge and skills that are fundamental for proficient work at each grade." (NAEP 2009 Reading Report Card)

"Many things we need can wait. The child cannot.

Now is the time his bones are formed, his mind

developed. To him we cannot say tomorrow, his

name is today."

— Gabriela Mistral

The Lifespan Literacy Center provides tutoring to students who are challenged by literacy. It has been proven the earlier we begin working with readers, the better their success in the classroom. There is no cost.
