king TUT

King Tut an Egyptian pharaoh had a untimely death , when he was only 9.

His tomb was discovered in 1922 by an archaeologist named Howard Carter at the Valley of The Kings .

His death under mysterious conditions has been the subject of much speculation.

Many theories regarding his death as stated are:1) He was murdered in conspiracy involving his own family & friends.2)Some claim that he died in a battle.3)King Tut could have also succumbed to infection or illness due to a plague that ravaged Egypt during his time.

A team of specialists in radiology, forensics, and anatomy subjected his mummy to a computer tomography (CT) scan.

The CT scan found no trace of lethal trauma to King Tut's head, refuting the claim that he died from a blow to the head.

The maturity of the skeleton and wisdom teeth confirms that Tut was about 19 years old when he died.

Based on these findings, it is possible that something out of the ordinary caused King Tut's death.

But the experts are still unsure because of the damage Carter's team inflicted on the mummy during excavation.

Still two questions remain unanswered, how & when the pharaoh died?

The ancient Egyptians built massive public monuments to their pharaohs. But they also spent time and treasure creating hidden underground mausoleums that no one was ever meant to see.

The most famed collection of such elaborate tombs—the Valley of the Kings—lies on the Nile's west bank near Luxor.

During Egypt's New Kingdom (1539-1075 B.C.) the valley became a royal burial ground for pharaohs such as Tutankhamun, Seti I, and Ramses II, as well as queens, high priests, and other elites of the 18th, 19th, and 20th dynasties.

TUT INTO CT SCANNER

8 March, 2005, Cairo. Farouk Hosni, Minister of Culture, announced today that the Egyptian team has finished their examination of a non-invasive CT scan of Tutankhamun's mummy. Zahi Hawass, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, states that there is no evidence that the young king was murdered. aThe scientific team, which reviewed over 17,000 images, was headed by Dr. Hawass, and consisted of radiologists, pathologists, and anatomists under the oversight of Dr. Madiha Khattab, Dean of Medicine at Cairo University.

THOMB OF TUT

The Valley of the Kings was once thought to hold no more secrets and all the tombs unearthed. One man and his sponsor (Howard Carter and Lord Carnarvon) spent a number of years searching for a tomb they thought might have escaped looters and archeologists. On November 1922, the tomb had been discovered and nearly undisturbed for over 3,000 years.

Now it's your turn to view the tomb.  No need to travel to Egypt as everything is here

DISCOVERY OF THOMB

The tomb of king Tutankhamen was discovered by HOWARD CARTER in 1922.

The dig was intended to start on November 1, 1914 but they delayed that scheduled date because of World War I.

Carter was financed by Lord Carnarvon, the 5th earl of Carnarvon.

They started the dig near Ramsies VI’s tomb hoping King Tut was buried near him

In 1922 after the tomb was opened Carnarvon died leading to

This is a living example of technology advancement. We accepted things and events attributing their cause to nature and her wrath. However, advancement and technology could give us a different picture. This way, it has become a habit with us to accept everything that history states and dictates. On the process the modern world has found ways to offer a different view on it. In other words, the modern world has turn impossibilities to possibilities. Williams report gives an insight into this. A mummy scanned after a thousand years has opened new avenues regarding a cause of its death. The mummy referred to here is that of King Tut or Tutankhamen, meaning the living image of Amun. The earlier ruler, Amenhotep-IV has shocked the country by attacking Amun, a major God, smashing his images and closing all his temples. His family had ruled for centuries before the boy king, Tut took over. However, Tut ruled for nine years and then died both mysteriously and unexpectedly
