‘Yours to Keep’

The front cover of the album is animated, making it seem childlike and playful.

The colours are all quite neutral and natural, adding to the feel of it being some sort of old cartoon.

The picture is a pretty scene of nature, providing a sense of freedom, peace and tranquility.

The image of the rabbits silhouettes, along with the sun are what are printed on the disk, linking the two.

The text on the front cover is big and stands out against the bleak sky. This is the main focus of the disk, as the title of the album is not even featured. The writing is all in lower case letters, and looks as though it has been scrawled on, to add to the animated effect.

The back cover features bar code, publishers, writers and relevant websites.

This side panel has the artists name, along with the album name, in the same font as on the front cover.

This side also displays the tracks on the album, including bonus tracks, again in the same font.

The theme of a natural scene is continued, with water and birds.

It is a happy positive animation.

The disk itself is a bright, warm colour that is positive and inviting.

The disk is similar to the sun on the front colour, and the rabbit silhouette are also those featured on the front.

The text on the disk includes the artist name and album name, again in that same ‘scribbled’ font, other information on the disk is likely to include again the production and distribution companies, along with the release date.

In contrast with the picture on the outside of the Digipak, the inside is a photograph. However similarly to the outside, the inside is one continual image.

The image is very simple, and uses neutral and calming colours, like the outside.

For me personally I get the idea that as the sun sets in this image, in the ‘real world’ the sun is in the sky of the animated world on the other side, like an alternate world.

The three men in the image are roughly in the same place as the three rabbits on the disk.

The disk matches the outside, meaning it totally contrasts the inside, making it automatically stand out when the user opens the Digipak.

As can be seen here, the outside, like the inside is one long continual animation, that all fits together.

Also, each slide has a main focus, whether it be the beavers, the rabbits, or the bird.

The outside does not include in image of the artist, as albums often do.

The calm colours and consistency are very simple and childlike, giving the feel of safety and being inviting.
