With witches gob lins and super-heroes descending on neighborhoods alTOSS America the American Red Cross offers parents some safety tips to help prepare their children for a safe and enjoyable trick-or-treat holiday Hltllloween should be filled with surprise and enjoyment and following some common sense prltlcshytices cltln keep events sltlfer and more fun

bull Wltllk slither ltlnd sneak on sideshywalks not in the SITeet

bull Look both ways before crossing the street to check for cars ITucks and low-flying brooms

bull Cross the street only at corners

bull Dont hide or cross the street beshytween parked cars

bull Wear light-colored or reflective-type

clothing so you are more visible (And remember to put reflective tape on bikes skateboards and brooms too)

bull Plan your route and share it with your family If possible have an adult go with you

Over the past year the board has received a number of questions about the CCampRs and the enforcement thereof If

you have never received or viewed the CCampRs for our community please refer to your October 2005 newsletter for

detailed instructions on how to view them online as recorded with Kitsap County The follow list of CCampRs are the

ones we have received specific questions about and how the board will interpret their enforcement from this date

forward More importantly we do not want to be heavy handed with the rules we simply ask all homeowners to

communicate with the board on any issues you may have with compliance of any CCampR however without

communicllion we will be forced to enforce-the CCampR accordinglyshy

Article 362 Maintenance of Buildings and Lots

Each owner shall at the OVl1crs sole expense keep the interior and exterior of the Structure on the Owners Lot as

well as the Lot itself in a clean and sanitary condition free of rodents and pests and in good order condition and

repair and shall do all redecorating painting landscaping and maintenance at any time necessary to maintain the

appeara nce and condition of the Structure and the Lot

OUR INTERPRETATION is that all homes need to be pressure washed every couple years and the lawns need to be kept green

mowed periodically and (ree of weeds Anyone not keeping up the appearance of their home will receive a certified letter from the

board asking them to improve the appearance issue within 90 days (or put a plan to in place) or a service wil[ be hired to correct the

situation at the expense of the homeowner

Article 364 Parking

No trucks one ton or larger campers trailers boats motorcycles or any other vehicle or any part thereof shall be

parked or permined to remain on any Lot unless the sa me is stored or placed in a garage side yard or in the rear yard

area provide said Lot is fenced on three (3) sides and item is out of public view No such vehicles shall be parked

overnight on any sneer adjoining any Lot provided that such vehicles belonging to guest may occasionally be so

parked

OUR INTERPRETATION is that no vehicle should be parked on the street or sidewalk overnight except that of a guest Your

garage and your driveway were intended to handle the parking of your vehicles If you cannot fit your normal passenger style vehicles

in your driveway you wil[ need to find a storage facility to house it You also mllst not park an) motor homes trailers boats trucks

that are 1 ton and ove1 campers motorcycies and Like vehicles in your driveway and must enclose it on the side or back of YOU1 home

behind your fence screened (rom view or find a storage facility to house it If you have any temporary reasons as to why you cannot

comply with the parking CCampR please contact the board to work out a solution

Satellite dishes less than 36 in size mllst receive prior written approval on placement location of dish on home

(written approval from the board)

OUR INTERPRETATION is that the numerous Direct TV ar Dish Netwark dishes that have been installed on about half of our

neighborhoods homes are in compliance this CCampR howe1ler none of them received Wlitten approval from the board on its

placement Everyone who has already installed a dish will be receiving a letter grandfathe-ring in the placement of their dish

however all future dishes must receive written approval priar to installation

Article 3613 Fences

No fence shall be constructed on any Lot withollt prior written approval of the Board which approval may be grated

or denied in the Boards sole discretion All fences shall be constructed in a good and workman-like manner of

suitable fencing materials and shall be artistic in design and shall not detract from the appearance of any adjacent

Structures No fence higher than three teet shall be constructed in areas from the front of Structure to street or

within an area considered to be front yard setback by Kitsap County See Addendum A for pre-approved fence

detail

OUR INTERPRETATION is that all fences that have been built do comply with the CCampRs much like the satellite dishes

OUR INTERPRETATION is that once again numerous sheds have been constructed throughout the community Please get

Wlitten approval from the board on all future construction in this category The more pressing point on this article is their view from
